Local organizing committee

The members of the Local Organizing Committee are Jesús Avilla (Chairman), Miquel Artigues, Dolors Bosch, César Gemeno, Anna Maria Jauset, María José Sarasúa, Daniel Casado, Xavier Miarnau, Marcela Rodríguez, Nélia Varela and Aurora Ribes (Secretariat)

Topics

The workshop will deal with all the aspects of the integrated control of arthropod pests in pome fruit orchards. The following main topics are proposed:

• Functional biodiversity in pome fruit orchards
• The role and the use of ecological infrastructures in pest control
• Climatic change and pest problems
• Invasive species management
• Insect vectors: behaviour and control
• Monitoring and forecasting of pest and natural enemy populations
• Calculation and use of economic thresholds
• Conservation biological control of pests
• Pest control by behaviour modification or disruption
• Pest resistance to pesticides: from detection to management
• Implementation of integrated control programs in wide areas

Meeting site

The meeting will be held at the Auditorium of the Centre de Cultures i Cooperació Transfronterera, which belongs to the Universitat de Lleida (University of Lleida).

Registration and Registration Fee

Please, download an complete the DOC version or the PDF version of the Registration and Hotel Reservation Form and send it to the Assistant Secretary (Ms. Jorgina Roure jorgina.roure@rectorat.udl.es).

The registration fees are:

The Registration Fee covers the participation in all sessions, the Program and Abstract Book, 2 morning and 2 afternoon coffee breaks, 2 lunches, and the field trip costs (including a Farewell Lunch).

The Registration after June 1st will not guarantee the inclusion of the author presentation in the final program, although the Local Committee will do our best.

Mode of payment and cancellations

Registration will be confirmed only on receipt of the Registration and Hotel Reservation Form and send a copy of the bank receipt.

The total amount due must be sent by Direct Money Transfer free from costs. Do a Direct Money Transfer to the following account:

• Name: Fundacio Universitat de Lleida.
• IBAN Nr. ES16 2100 2464 6902 0003 1462
• Bank Identification Code (SWIFT system) CAIXESBB.
• The name of the bank is La Caixa.

Please, be sure that your name and the name of workshop (OILB) is stated clearly on any documentation issued by the bank and send a copy of the bank receipt with your Registration Form. Please, ensure that all the costs of the Direct Money Transfer are debt to you, so we will receive the full amount due.

Registration will be confirmed only on receipt of the Registration and Hotel Reservation Form and send a copy of the bank receipt.

Cancellations before July, 15th will entitled a 75% refund.
After July, 15th: no refund.
Cancellations must be sent in written to the Secretariat of the Congress

Lodgement possibilities

The list of hotels and their price is included in the Registration and Hotel Reservation Form. All the hotels make special deal to the participants in the Workshop. You do not need to contact directly to the hotels.

All hotels are located at a walking distance smaller than 20 min for the meeting building.

Timetable and Program

Each day provisional timetable includes a morning session from 8.30 to 13.00, and an afternoon session from 14.30 to 18.00, with a morning and an afternoon coffee break. No parallel sessions will take place.

Field trip and Farewell Lunch

A visit to the apple and pear growing area of Lleida is scheduled for Wednesday morning. It will followed by a Farewell Lunch and a visit to an olive oil mill.
